While visiting KL, Kiwi and family took the opportunity to worship with the saints of Serdang Life Chapel. This is where Kiwi's son, Kean Yong, is actively serving the Lord. This was where many NTGH members had their fellowship while studying in the univerisity.
It was in a good location for new local church. However, much work need to put in to see the growth in the church.
This small assembly needs a van to ferry university studemts to the church services. If you are with the new work, do pray and contribute towards their church fund as well as their van fund.

Preaching Session IN KLGH

Kiwi was invited by Yisheng to speak at a special session in KL Gospel Hall. It was a talk on The Priesthood of Believers.
Thank God for a good turn up that night.(Estimated about 60 people.)
The main emphasis was on the true meaning of The Priesthood of Believers and how some misunderstanding of it can affect the growth of the churches.
The misunderstanding of it has resulted in local church management structure and also in matters pertaining to ministry.
However, the true spirit of Priesthood should helps to send a wave of revival among the believers worshipping in the local churches. It should encourage evangelism and missions and planting of local churches everywhere.
Has the understanding of Priesthood of Believers bring about such life among the assemblies? Why not?

Sungai Bakap Gospel Hall 25th.Anniversary

29th.August 2009 marked the 25th.Anniversary of the New Sungai Bakap Gospel Hall. In fact, the work of SBGH was initially started by the early missionaries in the 1900. A hall was built in the 1930 and when that hall was demolished a second was built in the 40s. It lasted till early 70s when it gave way to a new Sungai Bakap highway.
By God's grace, with the help of the Ng family, a new church was built and commence a new Sungai Bakap Gospel Hall in 1984.
Mr.Ng Kim Chuang a member of the early Ng family came to give an account of the history of SBGH. The young leader Zhi Xing song lead the special service and a fulltime worker from the local congregation TehSeng Kong preached the Word.
Praise God for keeping the work going ever since the 1900.

Thank God for the loan facility from Public Bank for this new purchase.
Surely it will come handy as a mean to transport believers to meeting for Hai Yen (Mrs.Kiwi).

Ever since God has work among the Vietnamese God has prepared His servants to minister to the saints. Joe and Ann will be going back home for good this October. Kim and June have come to help up in the ministry.

Kuala Kangsar Chinese Assembly

It had been years since I last visited Kuala Kangsar Chinese Assembly. I have almost lost touch with the saints there except one familiar brother Siang Ming. Two months back this brother called my hand phone to ask for some advice. This contact reminded me of their need.
On 19th.July 2009 I made a special visit to the church. Attended their Sunday worship service (at 1.30pm). There were only a handful of believers gathered for worhsip that day. There were 9 of them. one young teenager and one young sister Two brother, Siang Ming and a Mr.Lee. The rest were sisters in their senior ages.
There was no musician for the keyboard. However, they sang their best in worship. Mr.Lee preached the Word. I was also given a chance to encourage the saints. The meeting ended at about 2.45pm
Having seen the condition of KK Chinese Assembly I wondered why city churches could not extend to them a helping hand. I am also puzzled why we emphasise on overseas missions, going to help up other churches in their country and neglected to send workers to work among the existing country churches locally. Is it because it is grand to work overseas and not locally? Is it easier to gather financial support for overseas missions and not for local need?
I am not surprise if KK Assembly should one day be handed over to other denominations which can offer them help and sending workers to work among them. (Who does not want, with a ready property for use and to own?)
I hope city churches give heed to such cries of help!

BMGC Family Day at CCC Penang

It was a state public holiday on 11/7/09. Bukit Mertajam Gospel Centre had its Family Day at Penang CCC.
Though it was raining the leaders manage to keep the warm fellowship going. In fact, some 30 young people from the church tuition prject joined them also.
Kiwi was invited to speak to the church on this special day. The topic was "Fostering a Lasting Relationship in the Family".
Thank God for a timely message for remind both parents and children the need to build up strong family relationship right from childhood. After the preaching session they divided into groups for further discussion on the topic.
Priase God for such a wonderful time together.

AIGC Hokkien Service

This is AIGC Hokkien service. I was there to speak at their Gospel meeting on 5/7/09
I am glad God has blessed the church with a new hall dedicated to the Hokkien meeting. It is simple but fully equiped with modern facility: good sound system, computer and LCD projector, piano and most important of all, leaders and congregation for the Hokkien ministry.
If ever any Brethren church wanted to understand what is church growth, AIGC is one church to visit.
It has warm fellowship, joyful spirit in the hearts of their members and leaders, excellent participation to win souls for the Lord, hearty singing and worship etc.
In such a gospel service you see birthday celebration, fellowship dinner, testimony time and also prayer for those who are seeking the Lord's blessing.

I went to take meetings at Cameron Highlands Gospel Hall as usual on the fourth weekend of June. The difference this time is that my children came along in this trip.

She had just completed her five weeks of teacher's practice and observation, my boy is working at Bukit Jalil KL. (My eldest daughter Ming Hoey is working now in KL.She did not join us.)

We took the opportunity to go about sight seeing during the free Sunday afternoon. A quality time together with the chidlren. It is also a time for my wife,Hai Yen to recapture her days in Camerons .

I was invited to take the series of meetings at the recent Klang Gospel Hall Family Camp.(5 to 7th.June) at YMCA Ipoh.

It was a simple retreat with lots of emphasis to learn from the Word of God and prayers for church revival. There were group discussion after each teaching session. We had the last group discussion converted to prayer session---special prayer for spiritual revival and the revival of the church.

Death Strikes Anytime

It was about 2.30pm on 8/5/09 when my phone rang. On the line was the son of brother Cheng Huat---- Cheng Zhi Yong. This is a rare call, more so from the Cheng family. When I was told that the father had suddenly passed away to be with the Lord I was shocked.
Cheng Huat was a strong healthy adult of 55 years old. He was a construction worker. Full og muscles and not much of fatty tissue ike some of us. No complain of any illness.
He died during the lunch break in his working site. Died of sudden heart attack. Oh it was shocking to all.
I began comforting the son and directing him what to do and how to go about the matter. had even the undertaker to coach and guide him through the police reporting procedure. I began to organise with Cheng Huat's brother on the detail preparing for evening memorial services and make plan for funeral on Sunday 10/5.
Death strikes anytime without prior warning. Are ready to meet the Lord? Is our life bearing fruit for the Lord? God bless and comfort the family.

Bye Bye Mr.Lim

Mr.Lim Chuan Huat was a regular member of our Hokkien Fellowship. He accepted the Lord and was baptised some time back.
Being a senior citizen, eighty of age, he was suffering from acute diabetic problem. He even went for dialysis not too long ago.
Suddenly he was called home on Sunday evening 3/5/09.
This time the Baptist pastor was asked to help to organise the funeral and memorail meetings. This is so because during his illness, Pastor always coem this assistance. In fact, Mr.Lim was baptised at the Baptist Church.
Kiwi was asked to take one evening memorial service and to take charge of the funeral service on Thursday morning. Praise God we had fine weather all the evening services. We had a sunny day even on the funeral day. Mr.Lim was cremated at Taiping Crematorium.
Kiwi led the congregation to sing Hokkien songs during the two meetings that he was in charged of. The songs brought back much memories of Mr.Lim at the Hokkien fellowship.
Let us say "bye bye ' to our beloved brother Lim Chuan Hock.

How Do You Support Missions

Just a few days back I was having lunch with three Vietnamese Christian leaders together with our Vietnamese minister:Joe and Ann.
These Vietnamese Christians leaders were from Australia Vietnamese churches. They came to pay a visit to Joe & Ann and to see for themselves the work that is being carried out by Joe & Ann.
They do not blindly provide the fellowship and support to the work. They are srious about missions. They travelled all the way from Australia to Malaysia and stay with Joe and Ann.
They took some meetings to encourage the saints (Vietnamese believers). They will be making a report back to their churches as to the development and progress of the work here. They even suggested that Joe & Ann should pray and consider work among those who have returned from Malaysia back in Vietnam in the near future.
They would open the way for Joe and Ann to pay regular visit to Australia and to main a good fellowship with the churches and believers in Vietnam.
NB: How have your church being in mission bsuiness? Is your church giving blind supports and call it missions? Have your church make any serious studies and visits to the sites to contribute directly to the preaching of the Word and the sharing of the Gospel?
Do we really know what the 'missionaries' are doing in the field? Is it a serious 'mission bsuiness'?

Nepali Colony In Nibong Tebal

Visited a colony of 300 Nepali foreign workers at their quarters. Amar and two other Nepali believers sang some Christian songs and share the gospel with about 20 of them.

I was given an opportunity to shared with them. Encourage them make good use of the opportunity to join the other Nepali friends at the church fellowship.Reminded that they must love themselves while staying and working in Malaysia. They must think of their loved ones at home, and so taking good care of themselves in place of work, and taking care of their health. Reminded them to care for one another. Helping one another. Encourage them to organised themselves to keep the place clean and tidy.

Told them to save their income for home. Discourage them from buying expensive hand phones and other unnecessary items. Encourage them to enetertain themselves with some songs, listening to radio, and also watching movies on TV . Telling them to consider to get to know new friends in the church.

Their immediate needs:
10 units of second hand washing machines
20 units of simple radio sets
300 sets of single mattress covers.

Promise to help them if anyone got sick and has no money to see doctor in the nearby clinic.

If NTGH wanted to reachout to this colony of Nepali foreign workers, the church must show their love and concern for them. The church must help to provide some of their basic need for a healthy and hygienic living condition.

Pray that God will provide for this need.
